There are numerous teacher resources. Although this is a growing list, I realize that I am just scratching the surface with the resources that I have compiled. I hope you find what I have curated useful. Please check back regularly for new resources.

Appolearning is a free resource. You can search and collect educational resources. When your search is complete you can create a collection for a lesson or a unit that you are teaching. There are thousands of expert-vetted educational apps, videos and websites.

Automatic Text Summarizer produces a nice clean summary of an article or webpage. Select the text, copy and paste your text into the box and click on Summarize. The text is summarized. You are unable to select the amount of text to be summarized. This is a free online tool.

Blendspace by TES is a free web tool for teachers. Digital resources are collected in one place. Content can be pulled from a variety of sources e.g., Google, Educreations, YouTube etc. You can organize videos, text, links, images and quizzes. Students obtain the code to the lesson so that they can independently complete it.

CK-12 Flex Books is a free resource. Has math, science, English, technology and more flex books that has content in a variety of modalities. Sign up for free.

DOGO News is a free online site where you can find current events, news and non-fictional articles for kids, teachers and schools. There are language arts, science and social studies lesson plans available for each article. Have fun exploring.

EdPuzzle is an easy to use free website that allow users to customize a video. A user can crop the video, add a recording, embed questions in the video and track your students understanding of the content.

eThemes is a collection of kid safe online resources. The website states that it provides fast access to over 2,500 collections of websites, on topics ranging from Aerodynamics to Zebras and everything in between. You can search alphabetically or by grade level.

Great Websites for Kids is an internet guide to child-safe sites selected by a committee of the American Library Association. You can find websites on Animals, the Arts, History and Biography, Literature and Languages, Mathematics, Computers, Reference Desk, Sciences, and Social Sciences.

HotChalk Lesson Plans Page (LPP) was developed by students and faculty at the University of Missouri. There are over 4,000 lesson plans available. These lesson plans are free. Choose from a wide range of subject-specific plans, available for all grade levels.

At Khan Academy you can learn about anything. The library has math, science, economics and finance and humanities videos. Sign up is free. |
Kids Know It Network mission is to provide children with an free, fun and interactive educational resources. Students can learn about astronomy, biology, math, spelling, geology, and more!

Livebinders are your 3-ring binder for the web. You can collect and organize your resources. Sign up is free. You can search without signing up.

NeoK12 is a collection of online videos, lessons, quizzes, diagrams, games and puzzles. Lessons, videos and games have been screened by teachers. They state that they are a 100% kid safe website. Only the videos are free. If you want access to the other resources you will have to pay to access them.

Learn about current events with Newsela. The articles are non-fiction. Students can find articles related to War&Peace, Science, Kids, Money, Law, Health, Arts and Sports. Students select a reading level just right for them. Every article is written at five lexile levels. You need to register to receive full access to the articles. Registration is free. |
Padlet for the web is a blank wall. You need to create a login to create a wall. Once you have a wall you can put anything you want on it, anywhere. It is a great tool to introduce a class to a topic, have a discussion, note taking tool, collect feedback etc.

At PB Works you can create your own wiki or get your students creating today. There are free and paid versions.

PBS LearningMedia™ is free for educators. There are classroom-ready, digital resources including videos and interactives, plus audio and photos. Sign up is free or you can log in with your PBS account.

PicMonkey is a free photo editor that works in your browser. You can fix your photos and add beautiful filters and text. You can create collages, touch up facial features and create graphics. It is very easy to use. Students can create great posters/images to show what they know.

Pics4Learning is a safe, free image library for education. The website states, 'teachers and students can use the copyright-friendly photos & images for classrooms, multimedia projects, websites, videos, portfolios, or any projects in an educaiton setting.

Prezi is a cloud based presentation software. Students can create, collaborate, present! Sign up is fast and free.

The website states that QuestGarden is an online authoring tool, community and hosting service that is designed to make it easier and quicker to create a high quality WebQuest. I tried a search for habitat and came up with many nice webquests. Please Note: A two year subscription to QuestGarden costs $20 (USD).

states that the Teacher's Guide to Science Projects was developed to provide teachers with everything they need to assign, manage, and evaluate a science project program in the classroom, including lots of tips to make a science project a fun educational experience. |
SET BC - Special Education Technology British Columbia's mission is to enhance student opportunities for success by providing access to curriculum through the use of appropriate educational and communication technologies. Check out their Learning Center, PictureSET, CurriculumSET, and Accessible Books. Resources are free.

Shmoop has online courses, study tools, Shmoop Tube, and learning guides for English & Literature, Math, Science, Social Science, Art & Music, Lifeskills, and College 101. There are resources for teachers and students. The educational videos are very fun and engaging.

The Simple English Wikipedia website is for everyone. It is a great place for students learning English or need reference materials at a lower reading level. The sentences are written using simpler word structure and syntax. The pages are free to use. Check the sidebar to change the language. |
Socrative is an online student support system. Sign up is free.

Sqworl makes it easy to organize and share multiple links with just one tiny url. It is easy and clean visual bookmarking. Click on the link to check out some nicely organized curriculum related Sqworl's by Mallory Burton. Free and paid versions.

The Tagxedo website states Tagxedo turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning word cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text.

Text Compactor is a free on-line Automatic text summarization tool. It is super simple to use. 1. Select and copy the text you want to summarize 2. Paste text into the Text Compactor box 3. Use the slider to determine the amount of text to be read. The summarized text is now at the bottom of the page. 3. TED Ideas worth spreading is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). All videos are free.

TEDEd Lessons Worth Sharing is a collection of TEDTalks. Use these engaging videos to create customized lessons in the Arts, Literature & Language, Mathematics, Science & Technology, Teaching & Learning and more. You can use what has already been created, tweak what is there, or create your own. You need to register to customize a lesson.

The Literacy Shed is a website for teachers that are filled with great ideas for literacy teaching using visual resources such as film, animation, photographs and picture books. You can access the resources without registration or cost. |
Tools4Noobs is an online summarizing tool. You can either select the text, copy and paste it into the box and click Summarize It or paste the URL into the field. To receive a list of the most commonly used words you can select 'best words'. You can also set a threshold of how much of the text should be discarded. This is a free service.

WatchKnowLearn has free educational K-12 videos that are organized by curriculum area and by categories. There are over 50,000 educational videos in 5,000 categories. You can access the videos without registration or cost.

Weebly is an online, free, widget-based website creator. This website was created using Weebly. It is super easy and creates visually appealing websites.
