BibliomaniaBibliomania is an index of free online texts ranging from ouisa May Alcott's "Little Women" to Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray". Contains fiction, non-fiction, and poetry sections, with a limited reference section. There are over 2000 texts available. |
BookstacksBookstacks started in 2002, as a personal volunteer project. All the books on this site are free to download and share.
PDFs are not being created anymore. The website states that they will archive all of the old ones. There will be more emphasis on producing EPUBs and MOBIs. |
CK12 FlexbooksCK12 Flexbooks The site has several math, science, history and a few other subject ebooks. They are module based and totally customizable. Select the subject area and grade level (9-12). The books can be viewed in PDF, mobi or ePub. |
Classic ReaderClassic Reader is an online library that has thousands of free books by authors such as Dickens, Austen, Shakespeare and many others. These books are part of the public domain. Registration is free. You must register so that you can download complete books by selecting the "Get Complete Book" link in the "Toolbox" bar on table of contents pages. |
ManyBooksManybooks states that there are more than 29,000 eBooks available for Kindle, Nook, iPad and most
other eReaders, and they're all free! There are also available in a variety of file formats such as pdf, rtf, txt, html, epub, ereader and many others. |

LibrivoxLibrivox provides free audiobooks that are in the public domain. There are a variety of ways you can listen to a book from Librivox. You can listen to a book being read online or download it to your computer and listen to it or save it to an mp3 file. The books are read by Librivox volunteers.
