Maureen LaFleche is currently working in School District 69 (Qualicum) as a Teaching and Learning Support Teacher. In this new role she is supporting teachers integrate technology into instruction and assessment. Previously, she worked for Special Education Technology BC (SET BC) as an assistive technology consultant. She has worked in the field of special education for over 25 years. She has taught an Assistive Technology course at Vancouver Island University in British Columbia, Canada for 7 years. She has worked as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, worked as an itinerant teacher supporting low incidence special needs students and taught in a Life Skills classroom at highschool.
She has been involved with technology to support teaching and learning since the early 1990's. Maureen gets very enthusiastic when she learns of new tools and implementation ideas to support learners. She loves the outdoors, gadgets and all things technology!
